Asian Summit For Secretaries And Admin Professionals 2006
The course was great. The whole day was spent listening and learning new things about my current job. Attended by 150 secretaries and admin professionals from many companies, the seminar was indeed a thumbs up. I learnt soo much, met soo many new ladies from other firms & companies and also i managed to de-stress. Yup, they even taught us how to meet up to our boss'es expectations, how to improve our communication skills, how to manage time and most importantly, learning the very important basic things that all secretaries should possess.
The Participants
Conducted by Miss Shirley Taylor, ASSAP held yesterday was a sold out. There were companies from Indonesia, Brunei & Malaysia tat flew their staffs all the way here to attend the seminar! N yeah, they were all friendly bunch of ladies.
Speakers
There were 6 speakers for the seminar, each of them professionals in certain aspect. I thought it's gonna be a boring 9 to 5 talk, but nope, i was entertained and delighted each and everytime the speakers gave their thoughts and ideas for all of us to learn and explore. And now i noe, my job is not just a desk bound daily paper work routine. It is more exciting than i can ever imagine. N yeah, i also learn how to make my boss happy... *winkz*
Course Work
N so, its not basically abt learning, its abt having fun as well. Yeah, we had singing and dancing and also lotsa prizes too. N i won a $100 voucher for reading materials. Cool huh. Not only we enjoyed a good informative talk, there were also attractive door gifts from Nivea Skin Care.
The 3 of Us
We had a one and a half hour lunch and tats when i caught up with a few other secretaries from other companies. Big companies like DHL, IBM, Reader's Digest, Singapore Powers and many more enrolled their staffs to the seminar And the 3 of us were lucky enuff to be selected to go for the seminar which cost nearly 500 bucks per day! *phew*
I met up with the lovely Miss Icz who was patiently waiting for me till my course ended. I miss her soo very much and meeting her yesterday was such a pleasant feeling ever! We walked around town for awhile and she had to go off for a movie date with darling Ratna. I dropped her off at Balestier Plaza and i headed home in a cab.
N now, im at werk. Although lumps of werk and emails are screaming for my attention, i decided to juz blog away first. Heh. Cos i've learnt yesterday, to always stay positive, to take each day at a time and have lotsa passion in doing my werk.
A phrase tat Shirley Taylor told us yesterday kept playing in my mind....
